1/11/2019
HONESDALE – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne), along with Rep. Tina Pickett (R- Bradford /Sullivan/Susquehanna) announced that the Northern Tier Workforce Development Board has been awarded a $131,595 Business-Education Partnership grant.

This grant funding will be used to enable students to make informed career choices and educational pathways to succeed through a combination of career-focused education and interaction with employers while leveraging Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Youth Committee, PA CareerLink and other funding wherever possible.

“Congratulations to the Northern Tier Workforce Development Board on its successful grant application,” Fritz said. “It’s certainly a testament to their hard work and foresight. Workforce development and preparation are paramount to successful career decision making and, in a larger sense, leads to enhanced quality of life.”

Business-Education Partnership programs provide opportunities to connect local businesses with school districts to promote job opportunities and career pathways. These programs increase awareness of in-demand technical careers for students, parents, guardians, teachers and school faculty.

“I am very pleased to congratulate the Northern Tier Workforce Development Board on receiving this grant,” said Pickett. “I am confident that this grant will assist them in continuing to help provide our region with excellent workforce development, job training and placement programs.”
