Pickett Invites Seniors to ‘$cam Jam’ in Tunkhannock
7/14/2023
TUNKHANNOCK – In her continuing effort to educate older residents about the latest scams and how to protect themselves, Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) is co-hosting “$cam Jam” on Thursday, July 27, in Tunkhannock. The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Shadowbrook Inn and Resort Ballroom, 201 Resort Lane.

“Seniors are frequent targets of these scammers, who come up with new ways to steal their hard-earned money all the time,” Pickett. “$cam Jam is a convenient way to learn how to avoid becoming a victim.”

Pickett is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities and the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming Counties to present the event, which will feature Fraud Bingo, an interactive way to learn about common scams and fraud. Lunch, to be provided by the Area Agency on Aging, will also be offered along with prizes.

Reservations are required and can be made online at RepPickett.com/events or by calling Pickett’s district office in Tunkhannock at 570-836-4777.
