HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20) announced the awarding of more than $2.5 million in state tax credits for four community improvement projects and programs in Wyoming County. The funding support was made available through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).

“The NAP program serves as a vital tool, enabling businesses to make impactful investments in our local communities, enhancing the quality of life for everyone,” said Pickett. “We are thankful to see Wyoming County benefiting from this initiative and deeply appreciate the commitment of all participating companies.”

“This money is vital to community groups seeking to strengthen health care, improve patient outcomes, and provide services for those with intellectual disabilities,” Baker said. “These are good projects, advanced by groups who have experience in making every dollar count for the benefit of the community. NAP is the type of productive partnership that yields quality of life improvements reliably and accountably.”

The NAP funding for Wyoming County includes:

• Children’s Service Center of Wyoming Valley - $630,000 for a primary care facility in Tunkhannock to provide integrated mental and physical health care.
• Geisinger Health Foundation - $1.8 million for the Tunkhannock CC+ facility to support its operations, including the employment of a doctor.
• Wyoming County Community Health Foundation - $81,000 to improve Wyoming County’s emergency services by increasing staffing levels and reducing response times.
• Wyoming County Cultural Center - $45,000 to provide theatre and visual arts classes for adults and children with intellectual disabilities.

NAP provides tax credits to businesses that contribute to the efforts of nonprofit organizations to revitalize communities. This round of tax credits totals $34.3 million and will support 218 projects and programs across the Commonwealth.

Businesses that made contributions through NAP include Big Sandy Gas Company, Coterra Energy, GasSearch Drilling Services, SDS Family Law Group LLC, Shalata’s Land Clearing LLC, Sugar Hollow Water Services, Susquehanna Real Estate Corporation, Work Well Occupational Services, Northeast Data and Meshoppen Swiftmart Inc.
