TOWANDA – With a vast array of state government-related programs and services available to help residents of the 110th District, Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) has announced her schedule of satellite office hours for the month of October.
“State government encompasses so many items that people encounter on a daily basis, from driver’s license and transportation issues to processing birth and death certificates to assisting with applications for a number of programs and services,” Pickett said. “My staff and I are available to help, and we welcome the opportunity to help solve a problem or point residents in the right direction to cut through red tape or get them to the most appropriate person for action.”
To help residents of Sullivan County better access state government-related services, Pickett will have staff available on the first Wednesday of the month – Oct. 3 – in the commissioners’ conference room at the courthouse from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Susquehanna County residents who may need assistance are always encouraged to call Pickett’s staff at (570) 934-2557 anytime during regular business hours.
In addition to state-related inquiries, staff can help with such items as Property Tax/Rent Rebate or PACE/PACENET applications. The staff also will have available common brochures on state programs and services.
Most notably, Pickett said that changes have been made to the Veterans Services Outreach she hosts in her Sayre office. They will still be held monthly but on the third Friday of the month, instead of the third Thursday. Staffing these hours will be Dominick L. Nati III, a department service officer with the American Legion.
“We extend our appreciation to Dan Falls, who previously served as our outreach officer, for helping so many veterans over the years,” Pickett said. “But we are excited to welcome Dominick, who is a retired lieutenant colonel with over 36 years of military service. Just like Dan, he has extensive experience in assisting veterans navigate through the complexities of the VA system or connect them with little-known services and programs. We welcome him to our area.”
Specifically, Nati can help veterans and their family members with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to benefits. He will be taking appointments at the Sayre office on Friday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services, and appointments can be made by calling Pickett’s Sayre office at (570) 888-9011.
