SAYRE -- In her continuing effort to address any questions or concerns of veterans and their dependents, Rep. Tina Pickett’s (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) district office in Sayre will resume hosting veterans assistance hours on the third Monday of each month, starting Oct. 18. This free in-person service will be provided by the VFW, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., by appointment only.
“It is important that all veterans and their families in our area have the opportunity to learn about the programs and benefits for which they may be eligible,” Pickett said. “We look forward to hosting a VFW representative each month to work closely with veterans in the northern Bradford County area.”
Luis Ybarra, an assistant service officer with the VFW, can help with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to benefits for veterans.
Veterans do not need to be a member of the VFW to receive this free service. Appointments can be made by calling Pickett’s Sayre office at 570-888-9011. The office is located at
106 W. Packer Ave.
Participating veterans should bring their DD-214 along with any supporting medical documents. They are also asked to wear a face mask while meeting with the service officer.
