TUNKHANNOCK – In her continuing effort to educate older residents about the latest scams and how to protect themselves, Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) is co-hosting a financial fraud seminar on Friday, Oct. 27, in Tunkhannock. The free event will take place at the at the Triton Hose Company, 116 W. Tioga St., from 10 a.m. to noon.

“The goal of our seminar is to make older residents aware of the latest scams targeting the senior population; teach them how to avoid being victimized; and make sure they know who to call when they are concerned about their safety and financial well-being,” said Pickett.

Pickett is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, Wyoming County District Attorney Joseph Peters and the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming Counties to present the event, which will feature Fraud Bingo, a fun and interactive way to learn about common scams and fraud.
