Pickett, Baker Announce State Funding of Housing Project in Wyoming County
June 16, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20) today announced $140,000 in state funding has been approved through the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) program to support critical housing initiatives in Wyoming County.
The grant was awarded to the Wyoming County Transitional Housing for People in Recovery program to help male offenders involved in the Wyoming Sullivan Treatment Court Program who require housing to support their recovery.
“This grant program aids our community in providing funding for renovations and new development,” said Pickett. “By investing in our neighborhoods to help low-income residents and those in recovery, we improve the area as a whole and create affordable housing opportunities.”
“This grant will provide a critical lifeline for those in the Wyoming/Sullivan Treatment Court Program, helping participants obtain transitional housing,” said Baker. “Providing stable housing gives these individuals a greater chance at success in their rehabilitation, paving the way for them to become productive citizens. Treatment courts have consistently demonstrated a tremendous success at reducing recidivism and keeping our communities safe, and this grant will go a long way towards helping achieve those goals.”
PHARE is administered by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and funded by Marcellus Shale impact fees, realty transfer taxes and the National Housing Trust Fund. The program supports initiatives that promote housing affordability, stability and revitalization across Pennsylvania.
