Pickett, Baker Announce State Grant for Improvement Project

July 16, 2025

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20) today announced a $200,000 state grant was awarded locally by the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant Program (AFIG).

AFIG offers grant funding for clean, alternative fuel projects in Pennsylvania and investment in Pennsylvania’s energy sector.

“These grants are an important investment in our local communities and the energy that powers them,” Pickett said. “With energy needs growing across all sectors, anything we can do to bring additional options on board will be a help to our citizens, our economy and the environment.”

“This is another example of how we can use our growing energy capacity to expand vehicle fleets in a cost-effective manner,” Baker said. “This program is underwriting constructive community partnerships that ultimately sustain the local jobs climate.”

The local recipient of this grant is PACCAR Leasing Company, a division of PACCAR Financial Corp., Officials will use the $200,000 in AFIG funding for the purchase of five compressed natural gas (CNG) tractor trailers.

AFIG was established in 1992 and is administered by DEP through the Energy Programs Office.
