Pickett to Host Digital Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Seminar

May 21, 2026

HARRISBURG – In an effort to raise awareness and protect children and families in the 110th District from digital human trafficking, Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) is again hosting her Human Trafficking in a Digital World seminar. The event serves as an opportunity for people to hear from experts about what this crime looks like in the modern day and how to prevent it.

Human Trafficking in a Digital World will be held on Thursday, June 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the Sons and Daughters of Italy, 301 Desmond St. in Sayre

The latest numbers from the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) show 1,996 offenses of human trafficking were filed in the Commonwealth between 2020 and 2025. That includes crimes relating to trafficking, involuntary servitude, patronizing victims and more.

“In 2025 alone, over 400 offenses of human trafficking were recorded in Pennsylvania. That is 400 victims too many, and we know this crime is often under-reported,” said Pickett. “The goal of this seminar is to educate people about what digital human trafficking looks like and how we can all work together to protect our children and families to bring that number down.”

The seminar will focus on what this crime looks like in the ever-changing digital landscape. Guest speakers, including Bradford County District Attorney Richard Wilson, Wyoming County District Attorney Joe Peters and Lantern Rescue Founder Korrin Moon, will share insights from their work and how their efforts have helped safeguard countless lives from human trafficking.

“It has become too easy for dangerous people to hide behind a screen and target the most vulnerable in our community. By learning the best ways to detect and put an end to their attempts at exploitation, we are not just protecting our children from these crimes but generations to come,” said Pickett.

Human Trafficking in a Digital World comes soon after the House of Representatives unanimously passed Alicia’s Law, named in honor of a survivor of child sex exploitation and advocate for internet safety awareness.
