TOWANDA – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) today said that area residents and veterans who are in need of special assistance are encouraged to stop by her two satellite locations in September or specialized hours at the Sayre district office.
“With summer winding down, many residents are getting back to their regular routines, and may be in need of assistance with state government-related issues,” said Pickett. “From the convenience of these satellite locations in Susquehanna and Sullivan counties, my staff can offer assistance with complicated PennDOT work, an issue with a state agency or applications for programs. I encourage residents to stop by.”
For the month of September, staff will be available at the Sullivan County Commissioners’ Office in the courthouse on the first and third Wednesdays, Sept. 6 and Sept. 20, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
In Susquehanna County, staff will be stationed at Heft’s Buy and Sell in Lawton on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, Sept. 13 and Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon.
At the Sayre district office, Dan Falls from the American Legion can help veterans navigate the complexities of government programs and services designed specifically for them. Specifically, he can help veterans and their family members with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to benefits.
For September, Falls will take appointments at the Sayre district office for Thursday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services, and appointments can be made by calling Pickett’s Sayre office at (570) 888-9011.
