Three Businesses to Receive Small Business Advantage Grants from DEP
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Susquehanna/Sullivan) announced today that several small businesses within the 110th Legislative District will receive funding to help cut costs, energy consumption and waste.
“This funding will help ease the burden for our local small businesses by cutting expenses,” said Pickett. “It will also allow our small businesses to be more competitive in the local, regional and national markets.”
The small businesses within the 110th that received the funding are Dewey Meadows Farms LLC, who received $9,500 in funding for Ag BMPs; Richard Howard Sr., who received $5,590 in funding for a grain dryer and Whiskey Hollow LLC, who received $7,000 in funding for reverse osmosis.
The funding was made possible by the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Small Business Advantage Grant program.
Eligible small businesses have fewer than 100 employees and are required to reduce their energy consumption or waste by 25 percent or more. The grant is available to Pennsylvania-based small businesses to install equipment which significantly lowered their energy use or decreased the amount of pollution or waste generated by their operations.
